What is a digital certificate?

The digital certificate is an electronic document that allows to identify its holder in the electronic medium, allowing to make transactions and financial operations, electronic initiatives of government, among others. Each certificate has the data of the holder, being generated and signed by the Certification Authority, which follows the rules established by the ICP-Brazil Management Committee, associating the person with a pair of cryptographic keys. With digital certificate, you have legal validity in all actions that use it.

What data should be registered at the time of purchase?

What is a media?

Card:

The card is a portable device that, together with its reader with standard USB interface, generates and stores the digital certificate, having a high level of security: once the private key is generated, the card is fully protected and the certificate can not be deleted, exported, or played back on another device.

Token:

The token is a device that stores and generates the cryptographic keys that make up the Digital Certificate. The cryptographic keys are protected by the token and are accessed by using the PIN password. As with the card, you can not export, delete, or play the certificate on another device.

I have media and I want to use it. How should I proceed?

If you already have a card or a token, you need to verify that the media is compatible and that it is valid for validation. For this, we advise you to go to the nearest service point to verify that it is possible to validate using this medium.

What is renewal?

Who can use my digital certificate?

Only the certificate holder can use it. It is non-transferable and whatever is done with it is the owner’s responsibility. If necessary, you may authorize others to speak for you electronically through proxy.

What is the difference between certificate A1 and A3?

A1

The digital certificate A1 is downloaded in file form, having .PFX or .P12 extension. This electronic document is installed directly on the user’s machine. You can back up to a USB flash drive. It has a validity of 12 months.

A3

The A3 digital certificate must be stored in token or on a smartcard. In case of card use, it is necessary to use a reader with USB input. Can be used on any computer. It is valid for up to 3 years.

What is the difference between e-CPF and e-CNPJ?

e-CPF

The e-CPF digital certificate is the electronic version of the CPF, which guarantees authenticity and integrity in electronic transactions of individuals.

e-CNPJ

The e-CNPJ digital certificate is the electronic version of the CNPJ, which guarantees authenticity and integrity in electronic transactions of legal entities (companies, corporations, institutions, among others).

What are the PIN and PUK passwords of the A3 type certificate?

The PIN password is the password that gives access to the certificate. Whenever you use it, you must enter it.

The PUK password is the media unlock password. If you erase the PIN code 3 times, you can unblock it using the PUK password. If you erase the PUK password 3 times, the media will be blocked.

My media is blocked, what should I do?

You must access the Token Administration program. Click your certificate with the right mouse button. Then click on “Unlock PIN”. Enter the PUK password and then a new PIN. Repeat the PIN password and click OK. If you can not unlock on a first attempt, open a call (call opening hyperlink).

What is the installation certificate for the A1 certificate?

The A1 certificate installation password is the one you noted in the Password Guide you received on the day of validation.

When do I include the PIS number or IEC number on the certificate?

The PIS number must be included in the personal certificate (e-CPF) when the customer uses it as a proxy of the company in which he has the employment relationship. You must submit it to the registration agent so that it can be included in the certificate.

The CEI registration number should be included if the client is to access social connectivity. It has the number of self-employed CEI, domestic employers, accountants, rural property, among others. To include it, you must submit the CEI number to the registration agent at the time of validation.

It is important to remember that this information must be presented at the time of validation, before the issuance of the certificate occurs. Once issued, this information can not be added to the certificate.

Is the digital certificate compatible with which systems?

The Link Digital Certificate is compatible with the Windows Vista system and above.

MAC operating systems are also compatible. In the case of the A1 certificate, it is only possible to install with the use of backup and can only be used in the Mozilla browser.

My machine does not recognize the certificate. What should I do?

In case of A3 certificate, you must install the Token Administration program so that the media is recognized and you are able to use the certificate.

I formatted my machine. How do I use the certificate again?

In case of A1 certificate, if the machine was formatted the certificate was deleted. If you have backed up to USB, you will be able to use it.

What is revocation?

Revocation is the cancellation of the certificate. You can make the revocation by going to the point of service with an identification document, or on the Link website, using the Installation / Identification password (for A3 type certificates).
